Note 10+, Pop Up, and Smart Pop Up

So on my Note 8 and at first with my Note 10+ when I received a text message through Samsung Messages, I could get the pop up preview for a few seconds that showed the actual text message temporarily, then it would be followed up with the smart pop up as an icon showing the senders profile pic. But all of a sudden they both won't work. I have to turn one off or the other or else k only get Smart Pop up. I have lost the ability to receive both. Anyone else experiencing this and/or have a solution?

Long press the message app>tap info >scroll down to notifications tap it>then new message tap that make sure pop up is enabled and yours looks like my screenshot

Yes. Just like yours other than my "sound" is obviously set to a different sound file. I only get the smart pop up, but I can get the pop up if I turn off smart pop up. O factory reset and stills same thing.

Check in setting>notification >suggest action and replies are on and scroll down to see all and tap on most recent to all find messages is on

Try this... Go to Notifications and scroll to the bottom where you see Show Something Else. In that list you should see Smart Pop Up View. Choose that and wait until apps list populates. Look for your Messaging app and toggle it on.

Go to settings>general managment>reset>reset settings
See what happens

I did that before I reset the phone, nothing. And then again after I reset the phone...still same issue.

You probably DONT want pop-up view. I just turned it on and it's a whole multi-tasking mini-window with the app. ew

More to it now. the pop actually works like it should on the lock screen and AOD, but it just shows the tiny conversation bubble with nothing in it. to factory resets. One with no backup reinstalled running stock as it gets and still has the same issue.

Strange , have you tried another text app like Google message to see if still same issue?

I tried Android Message. I get the pop up preview but Android Message doesn't support Smart Pop Up, so there works be be conflict anyhow.

Something up with stock message app, can try clearing Data,cache,force stop by long pressing the stock app and test again see what happens

Haha. Tried that..no go. This phone has never been the same since the UI 2.0 update..ridiculous.

Its definitely strange
I can give 2 more things to try after that probably have to wait for update to stock message app or software update

1. Reset settings / go to settings>general management >reset>reset settings.

2. Reset app preference/ go settings>apps,>3 dots upper right corner tap>scroll to reset app preference.

I'd be surprised if any of these work as you did a factory reset .
