Samsung customer support will tell you that the Smart Dock for Note 2 will only charge the Note 8 and have HDMI ability. I got my usb keyboard and mouse to work. When you first enter Note 8 in the dock, it will not recognize. Just pull out usb power and plug back in. Considering I have a Note 2 this is a bonus. Samsung has no other recognized dock for the Note 8.
