Note 2 Otterbox Defender Case Review

I'll be buying one of those metal pouches that are coming onto the market. They add extra weight and bulk, but they look very cool and allow me to keep my Note 2 'naked'. :)

Who sold you the Otterbox Defender Galaxy Note 2 case for $60? :(

I ordered the white one from Amazon and it was only $32. Black was $34. (ships and sold by Amazon.com, not third party sellers)

Ordered directly from otterbox. com. Total came out for 72$ with tax and shipping.... I'm afraid of receiving a counterfeit.

There's almost no chance of that happening if you buy it directly from Amazon. Just make sure it says "ships and sold by Amazon"
Do NOT ever buy stuff on Amazon that's sold by third-party sellers, UNLESS you know the seller.

It' has now gone up $5, to $39... :(

If it is sold by a third party seller and it has an average of 4.8 stars out of five, can you assume that they sell authentic otterbox? I ordered a commuter from mazel wireless awhile ago on amazon and it was almost half the price from otterbox .com. Its seller rating was 4.9/ 98%. Would you think it is authentic? Also, thank you for showing me how cheap the defenders were on amazon. I will most likely buy from there to do the battery mod. Thank You!

if the third-party seller has a large number of ratings, then it's a safer bet. :)

I just bought one from Best Buy and it is massive. I wish the screen protector didn't have a white tint to it.

I steered away from OB Defenders when I had my Skyrocket. It was just way too bulky, heavy, ugly, and interfered with the screen like pulling down the drop-down menu. I've since used Case Mate's Pop style cases and have been greatly satisfied with this kind of case. It keeps the device sleek, has silicone in the interior to absorb shock from impacts and a hard exterior shell. The silicone surrounding the bezel also adds a bit of a buffer if it falls face-down on a flat surface like a table or floor. I used the Pop case on my Skyrocket, S3, and my Note 2. It kept my S3 in pristine condition--no scratches, scuffs, etc. And I have yet to sustain damage from dropping my N2.

I got this case from newegg.com for $36. Everything about it is great except for the screen protector. Which really is not a big deal, I have had to press a key on the keyboard a couple of times twice. Other than that there is no effect to the performance of the phone either with your finger or the s pen. If it really bothers you then simply remove it. It won't effect the case. I am going to be removing mine soon as I get a screen protector. Was at Bestbuy yesterday for something else and was talking to bestbuy employee when I noticed he had the same phone and case. He removed his screen protector as soon as he got the case and put on a Zagg screen protector. Told me he dropped the phone while it was in the holster from about five feet up on a ladder no damage to the phone. It was not the holsters fault as he did not have it secured to a belt just the waste band of his pants. I have bumped my phone into machines at work myself and it has not come off the belt nor has the phone come out of the holster.

This is helpful - purchased an Otterbox case for my galaxy Note II and occassionally there woud be a small "film" that woulf form between the iShield I had installed on the phone and the screen protecor that came with the Otterbox. Ironically, the double-screen protection actually has not affected the touch or stylus functioning at all to this point ...
Cheers.

Love my case.... After spilling it on the floor face down and it cracked,,,, with the case... I got the otterbox. I once loved to change cases now i kept my phone in the OB
