Note 2 / Samsung Account "sync Disabled" !!!!!

I have the Samsung galaxy note 8 and had the same problem. Here is what fixed it for me:

Settings > Data Usage > tap menu soft key > select "Auto sync data" from pop up menu.

Now go back to settings> accounts and sync has been re-enabled. Hope this helps.

A big thanks for this. I was trying to Re Set UP Sync for my email accounts on my Note 2. Quick Goog search and this was the first thread i checked and your advice above fixed my ills. The problem came up when i updated to 4.1.2 (Telstra in Australia) as Sync was no longer in the pull down menu bit. So thanks again.

If your rooted.......cleanrom ace. Stock, debloated, or not, and it syncs. Gps has to be locked in though after flashing, but mine is working great. Thats my work around!

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2

I stopped using cleanrom because of the swipe lockscreen issue. Even though it isn't checked, I have to swipe to unlock.
The only problems I have with sync is Samsung and dropbox.

Thank you sir.
It synced other email account too.

excellent. thought that I've to upgrade to a new version to solve this, but, hulala, no need.
Thanks again.:D

THIS WAS A FIX FOR ME!!!! WAY TO GO!!! So very easy too. Now make sure that all your calendar, mail etc., options are correct as far as what one wants synced :) THANK YOU!!!!!! :D

I just discovered this same issue. I tried the suggested fix but my gmail sync was already enabled. I'm wondering if anyone has any additional suggestions for this issue? I seem to be able to get everything else to sync but the Samsung account still won't sync. I recently broke my phone and had it replaced but can't access my s notes from my old phone until my Samsung account is synced.

go to settings, then "data usage" then press the small touch sensitive button left side of home button. This will bring up a new gui. select the "auto sync data" button. Simples..... This will then allow auto sync to work for emails

Thanks! Who would have thunk going to an email setting would handle all sync options. For as smart as a lot of guys are at Google, has NO one every used these devices in' real life'? Guess they are so buried in nerd that they have no clue about the real world!

Nothing wrong with nerds, I've been an IT nerd most of my life!

Thanks!

Thank you thank you thank you. I could kiss you. I was having this issue and it was stopping me from doing a much needed factory reset on my note 8. Your little trick solved my problem and now I can sync my s notes!

After trying to sync my Samsung account with my phone to no success... As it showed disabled with no option to enable, I accidentally discovered that all you have to do is enable location on phone. I never had to do that with other phones but unfortunately I do with this one. I usually leave location off to save battery so I was dumbfounded to discover that disabling location will disable sync for Samsung. It won't disable for any other accounts but my Samsung and Facebook... However, when I put on location, it does nothing for Facebook. I still can't get Facebook sync. Can someone help me with that?
