Note 2: Shut Off Unlock To Home Screen

I don't know where the option is, but my Note 2 unlocks and goes the home screen.

How do I shut this off or determine which app is doing this?

I use Go Launcher and Cover as the lock screen replacement. I don't see any options in either that do this.

when you hit your power button, the phone opens up to the home screen and not the lock screen?

If that is correct;
Try system settings > Lock screen > screen lock > choose the one you would like (there are 7 options)

I have never used cover, so this might not be any help.

No, when the unlock is done the home screen comes up. If the last app I was running is there, it goes to the background and I am at the home screen.

Settings > Application Manager > scroll the lists until you see the All header > scroll down till you see TouchWiz home > scroll down till you see Clear Defaults. Clear them. The next time you press your home button you should get a pop up that asks you which launcher you want to use as default. I'm guessing you'll want to pick Go Launcher.
