Note 20 Ultra gets HOT!

I'm coming from 8 generations of Samsung phones. And my Note 10 ran much much cooler than my Note 20. Also, battery life is about 20-30% lower on my 20 vs 10. It's not hot like burn your hand hot or phone ready to catch fire hot but it can be uncomfortable to hold when use is heavy. I'm in a very hot climate so the last thing you want is a hot phone.

How hot is the climate your in ? Do you leave it in the sun or out in it a lot?

Realize this thread is old from when N20 had just come out. I bought mine in Sept.

Here it is Feb and after the recent update, my N20 (base model) keep getting notifications from GSam Pro it is hitting 39-40°C And this after doing everything I could except to use Dev mode to kill processes and limit to 4.

My S21 I've had for 2 weeks runs much cooler, 24-30°C no heat spikes. Both are setup 100% identical. In other words, 10°C cooler. The Note starts at 30-31:then jumps to 38-41° during use.

Maybe Samsung should automatically force clearing cache partition on it own and add an extra reboot.

Anyway, I decided I'd trade it in and ordered the S21U instead. See how that goes. Was tempted to buy iphone 12 Max but couldn't convince myself ??????

Does it feel hot when it notifies you?? When you get the Notification, do you run the Device Care to see what percentage of efficiency it's running at? See what apps could be running in background and Optimize/Close apps to see if temps go down? My guess is an app you have running in the background.

I've had mine since first deliveries on pre-orders... 6 months already??... and even though there may be a few moments where I actually felt it warm... I've never had a heating issue. And in the past 6 months I have done a lot of traveling from Texas or Delaware to Mass and spent countless of hours traveling on Maps that I would think cause heat and not an issue. As well as a lot of streaming on my IPTV account and the normal YouTube. If I think about it now though I do have to say when doing all that I run about 50% bright @ FHD+ and 60hz refresh so maybe it helps in everything I do.

But anyways, no issues from one of the earliest owners. The S21U look like a solid phone though. Good luck.

Factory reset. Skipped restoring. Left some apps out for now. Running all day and steady 32°C

Catch-22: install an app but don't use, in theory wouldn't be possible or logical to even run in background. Or be able to detect if it did.

Not using my thin Spigen cover .maybe tomorrow.

Now I have to see and compare to S21U comes held up in Texas.
