So I need help from those of you that used Rakuten–@jadenerd? I still haven't ordered and was planning to do so on the last day of the promos.

I was just chatting with a Rakuten CSR and was told that I can't use the Samsung trade-in and promos along with the Rakuten percentage. Specifically she said, "So, one of the special terms for Samsung is that if you use a coupon/promo that's not listed on their Rakuten page, you won't be able to earn Cash Back. You'll always want to check the Cash Back terms on each store's Rakuten page before shopping to view what they exclude.
So if you click through from their email on a promotion, even if you activate Cash Back, the Cash Back won't be earned."

I know that to get the exra $50 I have to click through the email–but then again, they did send me a promo code on launch day because this didn't work... I'm trying to get the Samsung promos plus the Rakuten percentage, and a referral discount as well if Samsung will let me use multiple codes. –I've never purchased from Samsung directly, so the referral should work. –Oh and I'm going to try the cancellation percentage as well if I can get these other discounts sorted out.

Can someone tell me how to do this?

I didn't do the referral and the cancellation thing but I'll tell you what I did with the Rakuten part. On chrome I have the extension but if you don't have that you should be able to go to the Rakuten website, sign in and click on Samsung. That will start your shopping trip with Rakuten benefits. For the extra $50 I had it loaded into my Samsung account so it totaled to the $200.

The way I understand it the way Rakuten works is similar to Amazon affiliate links where they get a cut of the sale price so as long as you use their link to get to Samsung.com you should be golden.

Funny, they still have not charged me for the phone yet despite it departing Memphis. I mean I got the pre charge they did a week ago but they didn't charge me the actual charge today lol. Wouldn't it be funny if they never charged me for the phone lol!

That happened with S20 Ultra also for me, there wasn't a separate charge when it shipped or when it was enroute but the previous authorization showed up as a charge eventually, don't recall how much time later. I was also thinking did they forget to charge but nope. This time also I don't see a new charge still but eventually the old pre-authorization will show as charged.

So what I'm saying is don't get your hopes up for a free phone

Mines is at Colorado right now, 2hrs away from where i live at Laramie Wyoming, just checked my bank account and did get charged, Out for delivery tomorrow from UPS.

If that email that you got the Samsung link on is tired to a Samsung account it should already be loaded into your account without you having to click that link.

Exactly. You can also add Rakuten to Firefox. You'll get a popup when you go to the Samsung site that you click and that percentage is applied. Have you registered with Rakuten?

Samsung.com is doing authorization different from S20 but no one is getting free phone they are taking the money

Had similar experience with S20, charge didn't show up on credit card account immediately when shipped. But eventually the previous pre authorization charge showed up. Never got a new notification for a new charge.
