Never heard of a way around it. Surprised they haven't removed you from unlimited for tethering.

There is no way to stop the throttling as far as I know because that's a carrier thing. One thing you can check is under "settings - Data usage" and make sure the phone is not limiting you. If that not the issue, I would say ATT to confirm whether or not the throttling is them or not

There is no way. The are stopping you at a point after your phone.

I left AT&T the minute they throttled the "unlimited" data. Went to Sprint.... Left them due to not unlocking a phone and data speeds at work... Now on T-Mobile enjoying fast.. Unlimited unthrottled data :).

I had AT&T and really liked the service and the data speeds. But I had to leave and go to T-Mobile because with a phone like this I would need unlinited, unthrottled, LTE.

How much data are you using? I got throttled once on my iPhone a year or so ago but not since. I have used about 2.5gigs about halfway through my billing cycle so far.

I'm waiting for Verizon to start throttling my unlimited data so I can jump ship. Last month I downloaded 120GB of data and when I tell people, they look at me like I'm crazy. I reply to them with the same response, "If Verizon's going to take my money, I'm going to get my money's worth". It's not as if Verizon's going broke Verizon posts $2.25 billion Q2 profit, adds 1 million new subscribers | BGR

Holy crap. 120gigs on your phone? My kids average about 200gigs a month on my 50mb cable modem. Btw. Both are 8 and under so yes they are heavy users.

Have had unlimited on ATT now for 8 years and never been throttled yet.

You have to hit a certain limit. It's 5 GB for LTE devices... So if you don't hit that.. You don't get throttled.

lol, not ON my phone I tether it, and like I said, since Verizon is getting all that money out of me, I have no problem letting just about anyone tether to my phone, whether it's because they need to update their computers, tablets, or update their social media garbage. Hell, I've even had a few iPhone people that had no signal on AT&T tether to my phone so they could watch a Youtube video. I have to admit, it's a little satisfying when someone wants to tether their iPhone, cause then I set the password to iPhonesSuck and they have to type it out in order to access my network. :D
