Re: bluetooth connecting trouble with jbl charge

Sorry to start with the basics.

Is the JBL Charge in pairing mode?

Re: bluetooth connecting trouble with jbl charge

Hold down the power button for a few seconds on the jbl charge till it starts flashing red then scan again.
If that doesn't solve it there must be another issue.

Re: bluetooth connecting trouble with jbl charge

yeah I've paired the charge with many things. I know how it works lol. The charge will be flashing and the Note will be searching and will come up with nothing. I tried it so many times I went ahead and bought a 3.5 audio cable to connect it. Would much rather be able to keep the Note in my pocket than plugged in.

A friend has the same problem pairing the JBL Charge to the Note 3 though the JBL Charge pairs to everything else without a hitch.
I can't get the Note 3 to pair to my Bluetooth TV sound bar even though it pairs with the Note 8, S3 and S4.
Furthermore, these are the only two devices that the Note 3 will not pair with of the half dozen devices I have.

UPDATE: Trying to pair a couple of more times with the JBL Charge and the Note 3 resulted in a successful pairing. The issue I was having was actually getting into "pairing mode" on the JBL Charge.

UPDATE DEUX: Digging out the instruction manual for my VIZIO sound bar I found that I was not really getting the sound bar into pairing mode, confused on the particular light show on the sound bar I was supposed to see. Once I got that straigthened out the Note 3 paired in a flash. Can't blame the phone for operator error.

yeah I still can't get it to connect. I hate it but for now I'm just connecting it with the cable or just using my nexus 7 to play music

Thank you! I couldn't figure out why it wasn't showing up in the scans. You're a genius for posting this step.

Hi, Was the same problem with my Galaxy S5. I Just turn on NFC function in my Galaxy S5 and keep it close to JBL while pairing by bluetooth. Hope it will be helpful for guys with the same problem. :-)

Thank you. Long pressing the on/off button till red light appeared, worked. The phone that was paired is a Moto G, IInd Gen.

For anyone trying to re-connect their jbl charge, I think I figured out the problem. I just bought my jbl charge on 11-21-14 so it might be a newer one? There is no on-off switvh of any sort. Anyway, I did get my jbl to become discoverable again by turning it on, then after it is flashing blue I held the on/off button down until it beeped. Once it beeps it is now flashing blue/red meaning it is discoverable to anything you would like to connect it to. Hope this helps!

One thing I did not get from the replies... in ref to holding down the button till it turned red.... do this only after you have already turned the charge on... we were trying to do it from the off position.... for example... "turn on the charge by pressing the on button... after the charge is on...hold down the charge on button again till it flashes red... now turn on blue tooth device... etc" hahaha... it worked.... lol

I have a problem connecting my JBL reflect BT to my Moto e. Its shows flex when I search in bluetooth and when I try to pair it. It says incorrect pass or key. Please help. But it is connecting without any problems with my laptop.

I have pressed and held the power button countless times and it will not 'go red' and scan to find my galaxy note 3. Originally they were paired fine - somehow the pairing got extinguished, and now every attempt to pair them back has been futile with moreover not even being able to get the Charge 2 to 'go red' as I have read so many times should be the case as for it to scan.

Note, I tried pressing the Bluetooth button several times as well; anyway just noting...

So...WTHeck?!?
