Note 3 dead, not charging and won't turn on

Re: Note 3 dead, not charging and wont turn on

I'm going to ask the obvious here -

Have you tried other chargers and charging cables?

Tried cleaning the battery terminals on the battery and the device?

Did it die when the battery ran down, or did you turn it off and find it wouldn't turn back on again?

I just haven't seen failures where the phone itself is the problem in cases like this. It just feels like a peripheral problem to me, not phone...

Do you think the battery's dead, or is it that the phone won't turn on? I have seen more failures here with the chargers and cables on the stock charger, than the phone.

I am having the same problem. I have used other chargers only charges for a few minutes. Then stops however the phone keeps the bolt in battery i have tried. Everything i have only had phone for 6 weeks and t mobile want me to pay deductible. I should have went with the s5

Yes, you should have bought an S5. I hear there is no such thing as an S5 with a problem. It's a perfect phone and no one will ever return one because there's not one single issue with any S5 on the planet.

In fact, I'm going to sell my Note 3 now and buy an S5!

T-Mobile doesn't charge any deductible for a phone they sell you if there's an issue with the phone that wasn't caused by abuse, so your story doesn't add up. I have had 2-3 BlackBerry's exchanged by T-mobile and never paid a cent for the exchanges.

No failures where the phone itself is the problem?
I found this place in search of a solution to this very same problem. I let my three day old Note 3 discharge to about 45% and plugged it in while continuing to use it, noticed that it had charged to 78% and shortly after that (while still plugged in) it went dead. No screen, no charge light, won't turn on... Dead. I'm not going to reset it or take out the battery because I'm going to set it down gently on Sprint's counter and politely demand a Note 4.
In this case it's the phone.

I bought a charger from samsung since att don't give me the charger i want. I deleted all the launchers and the cleaning app and no problem at all.

I seem to have suddenly experienced a similar problem.

No issues with the phone since I got it 14 months ago. Left work today with the battery at 90% or so, halfway home (only 10-15 minutes later) I felt it do the 'double vibrate' thing in my pocket, so when I stopped a few minutes later I pulled it out to check what I assumed was a message and to open the action note I'd created earlier for shopping.

Phone was off, wouldn't restart. Got home a few minutes later, took the battery out and reinserted it - no joy. Tried it a few times, with varying durations of the battery being out - nothing. Tried plugging it in with the official cable and charger - nothing. Plugged it into the PC with the micro USB cable - nothing. 2 hours later - still nothing.

I'm sure a battery wouldn't just give out in a flash like that, but I'm going to have to look for a phone shop with a battery I can try tomorrow.

Any other suggestions? I'd love a Note 4, but dn't really want to fork out the money for one just yet - I thought there'd be plenty of life left in my N3......

My note3 is dead nothing work and wont turn on.The phone wont even come on so samsung is sending me a other one.

I've got the same problem here. I was flashing a stock Lollipop 5.0 update over an existing stock 5.0 firmware. It finishing upgrading and said "android is upgrading x of x apps." After a while, the phone got too hot and went off while upgrading the apps. Tried charging, pulled out the battery and used a replacement but nothing. What do I do now? I've used this phone since launch with no issues.
