Note 3 issues with 5ghz wifi?

I have an ATT note 3 and I love it. However, sometimes it has issues staying connected to my AC WiFi router.
Something new I've seen (maybe new in 4.3) is that during the connecting to WiFi dialogue, it makes mention of "Checking internet connection quality".
Sometimes, my note 3 will disconnect from my AC router 5ghz band. Note that no other phones I've had or tested on this wifi band have had this issue (LG G2 on 4.2.2, S4 on 4.2.2, iPhone 5 and 5s, a Lumia 1020 and even the new nexus 7). I wonder if this is a bug in Samsung's software or maybe the build of 4.3? I have also tried cycling my router as well.
Anybody else having this issue?

Open the wife settings and access the advanced options via menu. Make sure wifi is always on and see if that helps.

I'm having the same issues, this is on 5gz with the asus AC router. The connection is not steady, 2gz is fine.

My 5ghz connection is fine and holding strong

I have a Linksys e4200 router if that helps

I have a similar problem. Mine won't connect to the AC part of my wifi. Just 802.11n.

I haven't tried on my Note 3 yet, but I had both bands paired on my Note 2. It would only connect to 5GHz once in a blue moon.

I usually stay connected to 2.4 but my 5 band has worked fine the few times I've used it.

*On an Asus AC router.

You guys motivated me to try my 5 GHz connection again with my Note 3. It's been connected steadily for the last couple hours and will hopefully stay that way. I'm in an apartment building and Wifi Analyzer shows about 10 other 2.4 GHz routers but only one other 5 GHz. it's on a channel at the other end of the spectrum from mine so hopefully my signal will be stronger and faster.

I figured out how to get my Note 3 to connect to 802.11ac. After some research I dialed *#0011# and clicked on the menu button and turned off wifi power saver mode. It restarted the wifi and immediately showed that it was connected to 802.11ac and on the 5ghz side of my home network.
