While I'm enjoying my Note 3 I am havng some issues that truly could be a deal breaker with me.

The first issue is that my phone refuses to remember which apps I tell it to open certain things. For example, if I click on an external link in the facebook app, it will ask me what browser to use. EVERY TIME. Even though I tell it to use a particular one always. It is driving me up the wall because every time I click on a link that should simply open up a new browser, it makes me click the browser, then 'always use this' and then gives me the popup telling me how to 'undo' that change if I need to. So instead of clicking 1 time, I'm clicking 4. Every time. Productivity drastically reduced. It does this for every program, not just facebook.

Other than that is when my phone is locked and the screen is off. I'd say about 75% of the time when I push a button to wake it up, the screen stays dark for about 1-2 seconds. How the hell is that happening? I had the S3 and S4 and they did not have that issue at all and they had less processing power and less RAM. Answering phone calls, the phone rings, and vibrates 2-3 times before it ever lights up allowing me to push the button to answer.

I do like the phone but right now with programs being slow to respond, I feel like this isn't right. This is one of the most powerful phones on the market and I expected speed when I bought it and it responds at times slower than any other phone I have ever had while still having much more processing power and memory.

The sad thing is I don't think i can even exchange it for a different phone without it costing me, but this phone is a disappointment. I'm with AT&T. Does anyone have any suggestions/solutions? Should I just return it and go for a different phone?

have you called tech support? sounds weird to me....i'd return and try a different note 3 and if that one also is not working for you, then switch to a different phone all together. i think the lack of comments here may mean not many are experiencing your issues, i know that i'm not.

Have you tried to clear cache? Pull the battery? If that doesn't work, perhaps try a factory data reset

Have you tried powering off, then pulling the battery? Wait a minute, then turn back on.

I have not experienced any of your scenarios, and they do sound odd. And likely not related. Try the above before attempting to swap with ATT. Re-booting cures a lot, you may get lucky.

I've rebooted, cleared the cache, and restored the phone. The issue with the phone remembering the default browser seems to be fixed. However the phone is still slow when pushing the power button or home button when the screen is off. I'd do a video but I'm at work.
