Note 3 - Pausing media when using hardware volume button.

Hi, I've had my Note 3 since lately after the release, It has worked splendidly except for one thing which I managed to fix.
Recently however (since about 2 months ago) my phone has started to act strangely when changing the volume with my hardware buttons.

Here's how it goes; When I play any media it plays normally, however when I press volume up/down (sometimes it takes a few clicks) it pauses the media playing... but here comes the strange part, it only does it once with 'every media' which means if I play the media again after it has been paused I can change the volume flawlessly without any strangeness... If I then start another media, like another youtube video and change volume, it pauses again and so on.

It reacts a bit differently with the stock music player, it does it once but when the music track changes it doesn't do it again, I have to actually stop the music, not pause but stop it (happens either if you close the process or doesn't use the music player for a while and it 'resets' the position of the track back to 00.00 or if you press the x button in the notification dragdown) and then play a track again.

I thought it could have been an app of mine but I cant find any suspicious ones installed..
I am considering a reset, but I want to see if there's anything else to do before I do that, cause well a reset is never fun...

My Note is the SM-N9005 with Android v.4.4.2 KitKat

Hello! I have this exact problem too, but on my Samsung Galaxy S4. It's super annoying to list en to an audio book and as soon as you want to change the volume, it pauses the audio!

Some additional info that might come in handy:

This problem also occurs for me when I use the stock headphones, and press the volume buttons there.

Up in the annotation bar or what it's called, I get the "II" (pause symbol), and pulling down the menu it says "your music has paused" or something similar.

Another clue is that there is one app this doesn't happen with, and that's "Podkicker". It's a podcast app that seems to lay "on top of" the system, because it's not affected by me changing the volume.

This happens in Youtube, stock music player, "Play music".

Yeah, Its the same for me when using any other external volume buttons as well...
And the pause sign in the notification bar when using stock music.

Sometimes its also very irregular when it wants to pause...
I was trying to see if it paused when using the software volumebar in stock music player... But didnt get it to pause, even with hardware so cant say for sure if it does or not...

Having the exact same problem on my HTC One... Its super ******* annoying! Worked perfectly until some software release a few months back. I really hope they address this issue! Tried different equalizers and volume control apps, but I havent found a fix yet...

I got this same problem on my Nexus 5 with android L.
I used DDMS to log what happens. This was while I was using the Rdio App to listen to music. I was not able to tell what is causing the pause, perhaps someone else is?
