note 3 photos/stripes

[AC Question]

What needs to be replaced if my photos come out with stripes across them even when viewing on other devices? camera or camera lens? galaxy note 3

Welcome to Android Central! Can you post an example?

If the image looked normal in the camera viewfinder, then it isn't the lens. It's either the camera hardware or firmware. Do you get the stripes when you take a video as well?

no it just happens with photos, and the stripes only appear once I take the photo not trough the camera.

So in this case what needs to be done? I tried with a hard reset ( format) but still have the problem..

I think it's a problem with the hardware. Contact Samsung if it's still under warranty.

It`s no longer under warranty.. what would likely have to be replaced, the actual camera?

Good question--I'm not sure. Are there any repair shops in your vicinity where you could take the phone in for an estimate? Maybe they're familiar with the problem. Otherwise, they may have to just replace the camera and then see if it helps.
