Note 4 and Gear S Notification issues

I have my Note 4 paired over BT with the Gear S.

Notifications seem to work consistently with Messaging but, not with E-mail.

I have my Gmail account selected for Email. Sometimes, I get zero notification of an incoming email. Sometimes, I have a Gmail notification under Messages, that I can not reply to from the Gear S. Finally, a minority of the times I get the notifications AND I get the email in the MAIL app to which I am able to reply from the Gear.

In other words it is inconsistent. Not sure if there is anything I can do about, having gone through all the settings; is it a software issue or should I send it back for an exchange? I do have the latest Gear Manager software, ending with NJ7.

Answering my own questions; I called Samsung regarding the notification issues and after 4 transfers and nearly 2 hours the Cust Service person had me go into my Note4 Settings - Applications - Application Manager. There, I selected the Samsung Gear - Force Stop and Clear Data.

Following that I am receiving my email notifications into the EMAIL app and I can reply to them from the watch, if I wish. Hope it will keep working now.

I thought it was the other too, which proved to be extremely irritating. Going to try this one.

Let me know if you run into any issues or have suggestions. This does rely on app to have either android wear actions enabled or to have action in the notification(like the buttons in google music)

I find it very useful to use with pandora or google music and use the next/prev/pause actions from the notification on the watch. ;-)

Pretty awesome from what I've seen so far, and unlike other apps, this one has been CONSISTENT. Only thing I had to learn is that incoming and missed calls have to be handled by Gear Notifications app, but that was no biggie.

You need to install it for Hangouts 2.5 to work yes. Unfortunately with 2.5 google decided to not actually attach the Android Wear actions unless the app is installed. Let's hope that's the end of their attempt to lock it down.

Yes, that's one of my favorites. Also works with most music players. I will be extending that to allow you to reorder the actions so you can put Play/Pause or Next on the main screen instead of previous.

After finding "2 apparent solutions" for my issues where I could not reply to Gmail on the Gear S I finally purchased the "Gear S Notification Extender". Now, I am able to reply to the Gmail messages from the watch. Just hope it keeps it up, as the other 2 fixes provided only some short-time help.

I hope it works out for you, definitely sounds like you have some oddities with your watch(or phone)
