Android Central Question
I have a Note 4 and want to replace the excellent flip cover that attached to the back (replacing the standard back cover).
It is a genuine Samsung accessory and has a window at the front which allows access to some functions.
I have found the covers for sale on line but they are missing a 'chip' that was embedded in the back cover and has some contacts that connect to the phone when it is attached.
The new covers have the imprint in the plastic where the chip would have been.
I am wondering;
- What is the function of this chip? If I buy a replacement cover without it, would I miss some functionality?
- Is it feasible that I could detach the chip from my existing cover and glue it in place in the new one?
Hoping someone can help.
