Is anybody else experiencing high RAM use? Right out of the box, mine was at 2.25. I find I'm having to mind the RAM before it tops out. I can't seem to get it under 2G no matter what apps I close out.

Re: High RAM Usage

I know this is an entirely different beast, but I was always able to keep my Note 3 RAM operating under 1.5. Sometimes if I don't manage the RAM usage, my N4 will drag or hang up. I spoke to AT&T and a rep was able to remotely log in to my ph & troubleshoot. Turns out I had done everything she had in mind. She suggested I get on the line with Samsung.

Re: High RAM Usage

This is sort of how Android works. Apps load in the ram all the time. Don't worry though, it's not using battery out CPU. Is just there when you need it. Android is designed to manage the Ram for you so you needn't be bothered with it.

Re: High RAM Usage

Sort of wished they added 4Gb or Ram to it but not really necessary so far, haven't noticed any slow down yet.

Re: High RAM Usage

I would just use the phone without worrying about memory usage. I noticed that Note 4 will terminate most open apps if not all when you had more then 17 apps open. I also noticed that when memory usage is closed to max, it will purge inactive apps. Like other said, let Android manage the memory as it was designed.

From some video tests I got these results:

Speed test LAP 1:
Note 4 (Exynos): 52 sec
iPhone 6 Plus: 56~57 sec
Z3 and M8: 61 sec

Speed test LAP 2:*
Z3: 23 sec
iPhone 6 Plus: 25~26 sec
M8: 27 sec
Note 4: 40 sec*

Speed test Total Time:
iPhone 6 Plus and*Note 4: 1:22
Z3: 1:23
M8: 1:28

Videos on youtube (can't post links yet): =6EbgEfRsM0g and =VT5oN-oC4Qw&list=UUEeXA5Tu7n9X5_zkOgGsyww

This shows us how bad Note 4's multitasking is as it closes apps on the background much faster than other phones. What do you think?

Yah mine too, have my Note 4 just 10 days but I experienced high ram usage goes up to 2.5 g or 98% of ram then the phone freezes.
Had to take off battery and restart.
At morning wakeup after night charging the ram usage was to its maximum.
Any ideas what to do?

Sorry to hear you are having these problems guys
My note 4 which i have been using for about 3 weeks now, had 4 random restarts, 3 while looking at photos in Gallery and 1 restart when i was trying to open a game. I do not remember how many apps I had opened when these restarts happened.
When no apps in Recent, my RAM is 1.4 - 1.5 (this is what is shown in Settings -> App Manager). However, when all apps closed, when you go to Recent and then Active app, Ram status is 1.7 of 2.72 available? Shouldn't those 2 figures be the same?

Also, would the phone possibly restart if it's running out of RAM?

It's not restarting because it is running out of ram. Wanting more or freeing it up is just wrong. I used to think that too but now it is like wanting a 5th wheel on your car that does nothing. It's there to be used if you kill apps something else will start andd take it up to around 2 or whatever you are seeing...

The way Android uses Ram differs from ios or desktop pc.'s.

This has been explained by many on here Amuliut is one.

I am aware that many are not as tech savey but just read a bit if unsure.

I had the same experience after about a month. I came to find out I had old games still connected through G+ account. Went into account, viewed as public and saw a whole list. went back into account and disconnected and removed. As soon as I checked phone, went from 2.45 to 1.86.
