Will my tmobile u.s. work with other carriers even if it's been through collections from lack of payment and could it be sim unlocked? Thanks in advance .

If a device gets blacklisted due to lack of payments it will not work on any carrier -- They share this list.

Yes, theres are a high probability. But that would require lots of time and efforts. Jailbreaking devices is not an easy job. And if your IMEI number is black listed by tmobile, then no other operator will offer you its services.
