Note 4 to LG V20

Thanks for taking the time to reply and also for the well balanced replies.

I have looked at the Huawei Mate 9 but on paper at least I'm not really seeing much appeal with it aside from the slightly larger screen, it's perhaps different in other areas but it doesn't seem to be officially for sale here and despite some of the lower specs the price is high, a good bit more expensive than the V20.

My issue with the Edge display is that it makes the device seem like it has a smaller screen, I was quite surprised how large the S7 Edge is physically as in the brief use I've had with it, the screen feels a lot smaller than the Note 4.

I've not been paying any attention to the S8 rumours as I assumed the larger model would be a similar size to the S7 Edge although I noticed on an article today the plus model is rumoured to be around the 5.8in-6.2in mark so I'll be keeping an eye on that. Although I suspect the price of that will be huge and availability will be limited for a while.

I made the switch coming from a note 4. No regrets for me. Even though the note 4 amoled display is much brighter and colors are more vibrant. Once I got used to the v20 display and adjusted the displaybsettings, it was no big deal. Battery life is a huge difference. The v20 blows away the note 4 battery life. Kust my opinion

I switched from LG V10 which is basically an earlier incarnation of LG V20 to Note 4. So I went the other way.

The LG V10 and presumably V20 display is much sharper, more vibrant than Note 4, by far. I still cannot get used to the Note 4 display. It is ok but the phone is what, 4 years old? while V20 is new.

Battery life is irrelevant if you install that ZeroLemon 10,000 mAh battery that V20 takes. V20 is also faster, more responsive, more memory. I went from V10 to Note 4 because of the dreaded bootloop issue, I am not sure if V20 is affected or not.

If I knew for certain V20 was exempt from the stupid bootloop thing, I would get it without a hesitation.

There are no confirmed instances of the V20 having any bootloop issues or even the G5 for that matter and the only reports I've heard of are from people who don't know what a bootloop is.

I went from Samsung Note 4 to Samsung S8+ to LG V20.

LG V20 is my favorite phone.

I love the extended ZeroLemon 10,000 mAh battery.

I have both Note 4 and LG V20 and both have high-capacity 10,000 mAh batteries.

V20 has better runtime with an identical-capacity battery.

V20 is faster with a very sharp screen. I realize the resolution is identical, both are QHD, but it seems sharper.

V20's colors are a little duller. Note 4 is more vibrant, OLED vs LCD.

V20 has 4GB of RAM vs. 3GB in Note 4. Storage wise, 64GB versus 32GB (at most) in Note 4.

Note has off-screen buttons. LG V20 sacrifices screen by moving the buttons there. However LG V20 has the 2nd screen which kind of makes up for it.

There is no reason to ever get Note 4 given LG V20 prices have collapsed. Unless you get a really good deal on Note 4.

It was painful going from my LG V20 to my Note9 but the Samsung just had too much to offer for me to pass it up. The one thing I miss is the ir blaster. Fortunately I have a Gear 2 with ir blaster so I still have some control when out and about. The Note is so much faster and battery life WAY better and the SPen features too good to pass up.

I still keep my V20 in my living room as an ir blaster.
