note 4 to nexus 6 unlocked from amazon

I currently have a note 4, and want to switch to a nexus 6. Im wanting to buy it unlocked from amazon but cant just switch sim cards because the sim cards are different. Would i be able to take the amazon nexus 6 to verizon and they set me up a nano sim while under a edge plan with my note 4 ?

There are SIM card cutters you can get for cheap on Amazon and elsewhere. I'm not sure if you'd still have to contact Verizon directly to activate the N6 once you've swapped the SIM.
