The Note 4 was the last note I had and I wanted to know how many features will be missing from it when moving to the 7? I remember complaints about the Note 5 missing things.

I'm not talking about removable battery. I'm talking about software features.

Active apps widget is gone. On the s7 edge, you couldn't set an app to open "just once".

Well that sucks...... I didn't even think about stuff being taken away..... I use those two features on my note 3 everyday..... oh well, guess I'll delete my active apps widget now so I can get use to not having it...

Good thread. I have a Note 4 (had all previous Notes before) and I'm waiting on a hero in the form of LG's V20. However, if the V20 doesn't stack up, it will be S-Note 7.

Can I still have two apps open on the screen at once? I usually have my messaging app on the bottom and YouTube open on the top so I can watch videos and text at the same time

No longer have simultaneous voice and data in 3G only in LTE (note 4 has 2 radios note 7 has 1). No longer has ir blaster. Battery cannot be removed.
Voices and data very by carrier. I have Cricket which is ATT and I can use voice and data simultaneously with my S6 Edge plus and my Note 5.

Absolutely right. I was referring to VZW. That's why I mentioned 3G. You don't have 3G.

How often are you on 3G? I would think not very often. When I had version I never saw 3g even while traveling to small towns.

Every day I drive through and often stop in an area of Wilmington, MA which is 3G. There are also many indoor locations I am on 3G. If I am on an LTE call and even drive through a 3G zone the phone call is dropped even if I am not simultaneously using data. No problem with Note 4,3,2 but epic fail since.

Gotcha, I guess you will be holding on to that Note 4 for a very long time since pretty much all the phones have one radio now.

I've heard rumors but years and years away.
If it were up to me WIFI and cell towers would be run by homeland security and private companies could purchase bandwidth. Our system should cover every cubic centimeter if USA with public secure wifi and/or gsm to ensure our communications cannot easily be disrupted. And no I don't wear tinfoil on my head.

On the Note 4 you use to be able to write directly on the calendar, like a paper calendar. They removed it from the Note 5, I hope they added it back.

No. It was the last Note with 2 radios. Definitely supports simultaneous voice and data over 3G but the voice is actually on LTE (correction).
