Note 5 suddenly goes to dark screen then slowly returns to normal brightness

I was using my device the other day then, all of a sudden the screen went dark (like a timeout) and then slowly returned to normal brightness. Anyone having this issue or have heard about it?

Nope. Never had this issue or heard about such a thing. I would like to find out more info though... I'm curious. I have had my note5 for just about a year now and even with everyday use I haven't yet had any problems.
