Hey everyone

So I got the note 5 on launch day and love the phone. Only issue is size and carrying it in suits with a case. I am thinking of switching back to the s6. Outside of screen real estate and spen any reasons not to downgrade? I don't do much video watching just mostly email, text, phone and surfing the Web

I think you've nailed it. The two reasons I have a Note 5, size and most importantly the S Pen. So if you can be happy without those two items, I'd say go for it.

Based on your requirements, you'd be the best judge of what you need. The only other thing I'd consider, is the battery life between the two devices.,

Understood. I do think the S6 is a better device for me and my needs but wanted to make sure i wasnt missing anything hardware wise. The Note 5 seems very snappy and fluid to me. I know the S6 has the same internals except for the RAM which is 3GB vs 4GB. Will this make a huge difference?

I am actually getting better download speeds on my Note than on the s6 and you have the full pro mode in the camera too that the s6 doesn't have.

The fingerprint scanner seems faster and more accurate on the note 5. Also, the note 5 gets way better battery life than my old s6e.

I am loving the battery life on the Note 5, hands down, way better battery life than my 6 edge. At the end of the day, whatever suits your needs and works best for you is what you need to do.

If you dont care about the size or the SPen there really isnt much difference hardware wise. Only thing is the S6 battery is slightly worse.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to head over to bestbuy later today to play around more w the s6. It's hard to consider switching.

Battery is horrible on S6, you can't make it thru a day on decent use unless you turn off bunch of sync, and other features to make it a dumb phone instead of smartphone.

I bought the iPhone 6 Plus and thought I'd get used to it. Nope, traded it for a SGN5 :)

It was simply too t a l l...

So I went to Bestbuy and couldn't do it. The s6 just seemed too small. Sticking with this beast. Switched from the IP6 and this phone seems to be the best in terms of meeting smooth and fluid

The S6 is crap compared to the Note 5 or even Note 4. S6 had some lag, horrible battery life, and the audio on calls was bad. The Note 5 is faster, no lag, better battery and the audio, call quality is a lot better than the S6. Downside is no IR blaster compared to the S6.

Like it better than the S6.

This is the problem with asking questions in this forum. Sometimes you very very unbiased answers.

1. The audio is the same.

2. Battery life is less but not horrible. Actually it's impressive for a device this small and capable.

3. It does have some lag which I found annoying but by no means makes the device unusable.

I really think it's device to device. My S6 edge had terrible problems with lagging, and my battery life was just awful. The speaker I honestly didn't hear a difference. The N5 has been fantastic in regards to what I was experiencing with the edge.
