Hey guys, anyone planning on switching from their Note 5 to the S7 Edge? Reasons why?
Thanks,
Darren

I am. I am curious about the edge and I really want that battery, SD card, and water resistant.

I am, just because I want to try the slightly smaller screen (but still over 5 inches) and new features. But if that doesn't feel right, it'll be just a placeholder for the Note 6.

(That and I was up for an upgrade, and now I'm on the Jump! On Demand program, so I can change a bunch of times a year should I want to)

I'm holding on to the Note 5 but moving to the S7. It has a big screen but not 5.7 big. The battery is bigger, the camera is better and it has more edge features than last years model. All this in a smaller package. I wish it had a pen though. This is the main reason why I'll keep the Note.

I am getting the s7 edge, mainly for the camera and water resistance

I am switching as well. Cause I dont know when freaking verizon will release Marshmallow for it. I dont really use the S-pen that much. The S7e, just fits so well in my hands.

I'm mulling over getting an Active Stylus and see how that fares with the S-Pen. There will be no pressure sensitivity or palm rejection unless the app supports it, but might be a fair replacement.

Have a borked note 5, so I moved on to the s7 edge. Can't wait until it comes here. I miss samsung devices. I'm using a nexus 6p now and the camera isn't that good.

Really? I thought the camera on the Nexus 6P was top notch (finally)! I mean I haven't compared to Samsung, and those are always top performers, but at least in SloMo it seems to have better 'specs' compared to the crappy (yes, it's still crappy even though stills are marvelous) SloMo videos taken by Sammy devices.

I'm switching. Just for the simple reason of I like switching phones. Lol

Note 5 silver to S7 edge gold. Bigger battery better ergonomics waterproof. Note 6 will be even better

Yep, sounds like me. My wife asked me why we are switching, there's nothing wrong with our note 5s and all I could say is, "I don't know, I just want a new phone." like the previous poster said, the s7 edge is just a placeholder for the Note 6.

It's slow to focus and the white balance can be goofy. Sometimes stuff looks super blown out. I don't care to do manual controls on a phone camera, it's why I have a dslr. For my phone I just like to point and shoot and Samsung and Apple both do that much, much better than the nexus 6p.

I was planning on going from the note 5 to the 7 Edge but changed my mind after seeing it in person.
On paper, all the specs are much better than the Note 5 but I found that I just liked the feel of the Note series better in the hand and also didn't really see any improvement in MY usage pattern in a phone. So I'm holding out till the Note 6 arrives.

Thanks guys!! I am on the fence.... the ability to have the SD card again is one factor I am looking at. Add into the equation water and dust proof... but I am betting the Note 6 will have this also... thoughts?

We had waterproofing before, and that never made it to the Note Line. SD Card I don't think they'll remove from the Note line, but not sure if they'll allow Adoptable Storage (remember, even though the SD Card is back, it can only be used for media and external files, not main app files).

The note is a hard phone to beat. I miss the s-pen when I move to other devices.

I'm contemplating it, but have yet to pull the trigger. I'm worried I'll miss the s pen, but I really don't use it all that much. We'll see.

I have the Note 5 and ordered a S7 Edge that will be here tomorrow. I too wanted a slightly smaller phone that I will use for my job. I bought a 6S for that purpose in December but it's not an Android phone and I really want a phone about that size but as an Android phone. The S7 Edge should do it.

Found a picture on the net comparing the Note 5 to the S7 Edge. The Edge is just a bit smaller.
