Note 7 dying at 70% battery life

I have noticed my brand new Note 7 phone dying around 70% battery life. I restarted it around 72% and when the phone came back on it displayed 4% battery life. Do I have a dud or are other people seeing this? Anyone know of a fix other than return it?

It sounds like either faulty reporting or a bad battery.
I'll request a move to the Note 7 forum for more ideas.

Check the battery graph after it shows the problem. Tap the graph and look at the next graph. If there's a sharp drop to zero, it's a dendrite in the battery, and the battery has to be replaced. (That should be under warranty, but the manufacturers still refuse to cover dendrites.)

If the phone is within its first 2 weeks, you can either request a new one (not a refurb) or cancel the sale, then buy another one.
