What's up guys!

So a brief backstory, I traded in my GS5 for the Note 7 last year through Verizon and when I turned it in for the second time I was told like many others who were "forced" into the S7E that once it was halfway paid off that I could then trade it in for the new Note 8. Fast forward to this year and I come to find out that's not the case and I owe still $495 for this thing. To say I was unhappy is a bit of an understatement.... After talking to a Verizon person in store for about an hour and then to Best Buy to figure out where the mix-up occurred I was left with only the option of paying off the 495 and then saving 20 per month on the Note 8. Not the best idea.

When I thought all hope was lost I took to Twitter to vent a little bit to Samsung, and I actually got a reply from Verizon's Twitter team of all people and they helped me out!

So basically what they said was they are going to issue a VERY special forced buyout request for my S7E at $480 and I would pay the difference of 15$ then start the Note 8 at full price on a per month basis. The only downside apparently is that I will have to wait for the next billing cycle to hit to order my phone and cannot take advantage of the pre order bonuses. They said it may even take till November, if it does I'll go after the Deep Sea Blue. I've attached a screenshot of the message I just got from VZW.

I can't believe that Twitter of all places helped me solve my problem. The power of social media I guess lol

I've come to realize it's all in who u talk to. Its like the luck of the draw. I had a similar issue whereas before I turned in my 2nd N7 I was assured I'd be able to get the next Note in August 2017. In other words, my upgrade would be reset to the original N7 date. We'll now, a year later, they're saying nope. U gotta pay or wait. I finally got the "right" rep and they credited my account for the 3 payments I'd owe before being able to upgrade. I can now preorder or wait till Friday. I'm waiting.

So I said all that to say this: keep calling until u get the right rep. Its nice to hear people are getting out of the N7 fiasco relatively painlessly.

Yea after the hour in the Verizon store and at Best Buy with Zero help the Twitter VZW guy saves the day. I just hope everyone else in my similar situation gets it figured out because we all just wanted a Note.

Damn...I asked them to make that EXACT deal for me, and got some sarcastic witch who said no one would help me.
When I made the deal with AT&T, and called back to tell them WHY I was leaving, and that I would have rather stayed with them, all I got was 'sorry to lose you'd
That is exactly the attitude that made me leave Sprint.

This is exactly why I no longer do the big carriers and went unlocked the hole fiasco soured me
