Note 8 call sound quality

[Android Central Question]

Everytime I make a call or someone calls me the sound is very low and isn't that clear. And I have the volume up. When I use my ear buds it sounds great it's loud and clear. When I got the phone, everything was fine, when the note 8 updated that's when this problem occurred. I'm using my 1 year warranty and getting a new one. Has anyone else had his problem?

I agree that the in call ivolume is very low for some reason. I hope it's fixable with some update soon.

Yeah you would think everything was fine for a phone that's worth $950 bucks. I'm very disappointed, I can't even talk on the phone without ear buds that's how bad it is

Mine is too, now. I had to turn on the setting to increase call volume while on a call, in the call menu. It's been perfect ever since.

Edit: It appears that setting is only on a per call basis. For whatever reason, my phone wasn't very loud on the first few calls even with volume set to max but after I turned on the extra volume in a call, it's been perfect. I even have to turn it down sometimes because it's too loud.

The funny thing is when I use earbuds the call sound is great loud and clear when I don't, I can't even hear clearly at all. Idk if something is wrong with that top speaker, if it's a hardware issue or a software issue.

My Note 8 is so loud I have to turn it down. The voice gets clearer when I turn it down. So for my Note 8 volume is plenty loud. I haven't tried it with my bluetooth speaker yet though. Sound quality on calls has been better than my old Note.

I never talk on the phone WITHOUT earbuds(radiation, you know..), so I didn't know there was a problem.

I'm on Verizon, and mine is great. in fact I had to lower it to less than half earlier today during a call to someone on T-Mobile s8+
Now that I think about it, I unchecked Voice Privacy in call settings over the weekend
