Note 8 - Comparison Pictures (color/other phones/etc.)

Re: The back isn't slick

I agree. But I drop my phones. It's happened before. And considering this thing is mostly fragile screen, it's going to be interesting to see how these things hold up. Anyone seen any drop test?
I cannot even imagine what it would cost to replace a screen on this Beast I've already ordered my first case which I should get probably by Saturday that thing's not going anywhere without protection

Re: The back isn't slick

Got my hands on the Note 8 yesterday in VZW store as I pre-ordered mine. One thing I haven't heard anyone speak about, that impressed me, is what the case is made of.
It was easier to grip.
I noticed it first off. Partially it's due to the thinner but taller design. That makes it noticeably easier in the hand.
The back material is not 'sticky', but it's definatly not slick like the others have been.
IDK, it's hard to explain and I'm sure I'll have a case on mine, but something is different...in a good way...about the grip on the back of the Note 8.

The rest of it is truly as amazing as it's touted to be. I couldn't get over how big it was but didn't feel bigger. Felt much more comfortable in my hand.
I literally told the rep as I stood there 'Let's do it man, take my money!'.

The nearby Best Buy had just finished putting up the Note 8 display yesterday and I couldn't agree more. While its height is noticeable the phone felt easy to hold, was definitely not slick, and the display was amazing.

The sides of the phone where the display and screen come together are not as rounded and smooth like the Note 7, and while this took a while to get used to it definitely makes gripping the phone more secure.

This is a beast of a phone in every good way possible - the next three weeks can't go by fast enough!!

Which case?

Re: The back isn't slick

Honestly I wish they would make the back like they did on the Note 4's?, the one with the leather back? I thought they looked pretty slick myself and it did make it easier to grip.

Re: The back isn't slick

Thanks for posting those pics droidntn, I'm using a Note4 and was looking for exactly that to make up my mind a bit, I'll still wait until I see one in real life but think my mind is made up almost now

Re: The back isn't slick

Hmmm I dunno, still felt like glass to me and similar to the S8 when I checked out a demo unit yesterday

Re: The back isn't slick

That's good to hear. My S8 is kind of slick (definitely not like a bar of soap like all the hyperbole out there), so this is good news.

Thanks for telling us this. :)

I guess like anything it's subjective.
I took the case off of my 4 and compared them.
I also asked the sales rep to compare. And he's an iFan.
We both agreed that the note 8,even though it is bigger, is much easier to hold and balance.
And that even though the back of the note 4 is 'textured' for a better grip, supposedly, the Note 8 is easier to grip onto.

Just went to BB and compared phones. I have a Nexus 6p now (since i had to return N7 twice). The N8 is really just about the same exact size but lighter.

Got my hands on the note 8

Went in to tmobile today and got to have hands on on the note 8 very nice phone excited to upgrade to the note 8. Only thing for me is it feels to long the phone almost reminds me of the Samsung mega lol

How long did you check it out. At first I was thinking that but it became more comfortable by the minute.

I'm sure the mega was at least 1 cm wider and probably taller to boot.

Re: Got my hands on the note 8

I loved the idea of the mega. However it was to midrange/low end for me to get it. Had it of had flagship specs I'd have bitten their hand off. Finally I get to get a mega sized device with top of the range specs.

Re: Got my hands on the note 8
