Note 8 consistant crashes when plugging in headphones

So I had just downloaded some music apps and wanted to record some music, but as I would put on my headphones to start recording everything would stop working and the phone would reset itself. I was incredibly frustrated because I thought the apps were causing the crashes, so I though to myself that this was supposed to be a powerful phone, how would they even profit from this if it won't even work on most phones?
But yeah. After that I could play music with my Bluetooth headphones just fine, but when I would use the cable with them it would crash my phone in the same way, then I tried it with a multitude of different headphones and earphones. All of them brought the same result. Please help me fix this. Recording music on Bluetooth headphones is a pain due to latency.
