I have a JVC KD-SR72 and love it. I used my Note 5 and iPhone 6+ on it with no issues. I get my Note 8 and plug it up and it gets weird. Screen starts dimming on and off and music folder blinks/skips when opened. When I go to choose format on my USB storage on phone, it goes from audio to whatever it chooses like the Note 8 is possessed. JVC Music Play doesn't work either. I did turn the USB Debugging on with no avail. Anyone have a solution or same issue? I just bought a $900 phone and don't wanna fork out dough for a new stereo. 3.5mm AUX sounds low and I have a BT dongle on the way but hoping to use my original USB cord for best sound quality. Thank you for any help, Ron

Have you checked the JVC web site to see if your radio is compatible with the Note 8? Lots of cars lose compatibility with newer smartphones, I see the same thing happening with your system. Could be as simple as a firmware update.

My Note 8 plugged in just fine via BlueTooth to my Chevy MyLink in my 2016 Chevy Sonic. The AUX should sound no different than BlueTooth. Out of curiosity did you remember to turn the volume up on the AUX? It only goes halfway usualy on both BlueTooth and AUX unless you turn it up on phone.

After trying everything I've heard to do, i sent a email to JVC to check with them since I can't find that info (compatibility) on a website.

You plugged it in or linked it to your BT? I don't have BT on my receiver, I loved the sound quality of the USB cable over BT and AUX. I was getting a new vehicle this winter and was hoping to have BT with it instead of wasting money on a new aftermarket receiver. I really like this JVC also and was hoping for a fix. I have a USB Dongle on the way and hoping that will work. Volume was up but might be a cheap 2 ring AUX cable.

I link via Bluetooth. I've tried it via AUX and it sounds the same. I use BlueTooth because it will show the name of the YouTube video playing on the 5 inch LCD.

I connect my Note 8 via usb to my 2017 Kia Sorento to use Android Auto and it works perfectly.

Not sure why your having issue with phone working in your car mines has been great . fyi new Bluetooth radios are cheap now days
