Note 8 gets leaked... Still want the S8/S8+?

You can still trade in your phone though and upgrade to a new one, so long as you have 50% paid off.

I've even been credited back money for having more than 50% paid off.
Are you sure? And this is for any phone through verizon?

Given how crappy S-Voice turned out to be, I'm not expecting great things from Bixby. So that's not a feature I'm excited about, and one I probably don't care doesn't come out at launch with the S8.

Im more excited for the Bixby cards and updates than I am the voice service. Bixby is much more visually appealing than the Google cards, which are boring.

I really hope Samsung realizes that a wider width is much better for a writing device when they make the Note 8. I hope the leak's and rumors are not true and it won't just be an S8+ with a pen. I guess we will see. Nobody knows anything for sure yet.
Hoping the S8 and S8+ are Samsung's one hand use efforts and the Note 8 is not. People using the pen expect two hand use. The thinner portrait width is more awkward for pen use and the portrait is as well in regards of two hand use. I expect the Note 7 width but seems the stretch is inevitable. No harm no foul if Note 7 portrait width.

I'm looking forward to the cards as well. I also plan on using the reminder.

If the Note 7 was in existence still and have 7.0, would you be buying the S8 Plus or wait for the Note 8? If I had the Note 7 still I wouldn't be buying the S8 Plus. other than the 835 processor there isn't really any upgrades over the Note 7.

If I still had the note 7 I would not be buying the 8 plus. I had plans on keeping the n7 until the n8 or n9. It was a great phone.

Will do. I'm hoping to find out once it's fully released.
Just to follow up with you. I went back through the pre-order process and this time it said the S8+ was part of the Annual Upgrade. So you should be good in that aspect! Just wanted to let you know what I had found out. Take it easy buddy!

I can definitely agree with this. This is also one of the reasons i purchased the Blackberry Priv. It's 77.2mm in width. Giving you a fair amount of screen space to work with. :) In comparison the Galaxy Note 5 is 76.1mm. So when you look at the G8 and it only having 68mm thats a fair bit narrower. Which, a lot of people seem to love. So i guess there is a need for both device for different markets.
I also have the Priv. Being able to type quick is very important for me.

It is screen wide what matters rather than phone body. I compared the S8 and the Priv side by side and screens are almost same wide.

Holding the S8 is much nicer; also you can see more text above (compared with Priv keyboard closed)

The S8+ screen is too long to be functional. The size/length of the phone makes it look grotesque.

I do take a bigger screen is conceptually better but the S8 has the perfect balance between screen and body size.

I don't think the Note 7 was just a 7 edge with a pen. The edges were much less curved, it had the iris scanner and a bigger screen. The AOD was new, too, I think. Maybe those weren't huge differences but they mattered. Besides, the 'with a pen' part is enough for those who really want it. But I am hoping for the fingerprint sensor to be on the front, under the glass.

I was actually gonna come here and post the same thing lol. Thanks. You too!

I am still ordering S8 plus. Will get my hands on Note8 too when it releases.

I'd love to have the disposable income to do the same.

I'm in the UK and buy sim free so the s8 will cost me £689 = $865 and I'm assuming the Note 8 will be more.

Correct. Note 7 had slightly better tech display (per Displaymate), bigger display, less curve, twice the storage and better camera sensor. Calling the Note 7 an Edge with pen is "11" scale exaggeration.

Note 8 compared to the 8+ apparently has wider portrait display for the pen, at least twice the storage, 4K scaling display, 6GB ram (meh) and stereo speakers. That alone would make calling it a n 8+ with pen silly.

One advantage though is the 8+ is out THIS week. Not so for the Note 8, since another four and a half months. My Note 4 will bridge the gap as it has since the Note 7 debacle. Not a fan of the 8 or 8+ since 98% of video and image content is smaller than my Note 4. That said, most folks will luv the 8 and 8+. Both seem sweet devices.

Yep, the Note 7 had very similar specs to the S7 Edge and a similar build design language, but it was a different design and had several improvements over the S7 Edge.

I would prefer a safe fixed Note 7 to any device available today. I would prefer it to Note 8 as well. I like 16/9 aspect ratio.
