Note 8 Long-term Speed

I have had zero issues with mine and I've had it almost 5 months. I use Nova, but only because I like to use a few of the options. I could be using stock Samsung experience and it would still fly. I typically don't have issues with my phone's lagging too much but the Note 8 has been absolutely amazing. It will be interesting to see what the Note 9 brings and if I think it's actually worth the upgrade.

Its been a great experience since launch and unless the Note 9 brings special features, I'm sticking with the 8 for another year.

I think it has a few years in it also, with its good camera, high end processing and 6Gb memory.

Release day phone here. No slow down or lag. Switch between using stock SE and Nova Prime.

It's a beast.

I tried the Samsung launcher and I definitely prefer Nova!

My Note8 continues to work just as well as when I got it! I am still amazed at how smoothly it handles what I throw at it.

Has anyone experienced any slow downs with their Note 8's?

My note 8 has slowed down a lot in the last 2 weeks. I'm almost to the point of factory reset and reinstall apps 1 at a time.

I love my Samsung Note 8! It is absolutely the best phone I have ever had.i have had mine for about 3 months & everything works perfect. No slow down that I noticed. I also purchased the gear 360 camera & love it too. And oh yeah, the Mophie battery charging case & car mount charger. They all work perfect.

Exactly... I do the same and have never had any noticeable lag, not anything that a clear cache and restart couldn't solve anyway

Nope. I have loaded this phone up with tons of Media and apps.

I have around 10GB left in my 128GB MicroSD and about 20GB left of the 64GB internal memory.

Still running fast as new and Multitasking like a beast

Thank you for your feedback! I've been using a Pixel 2 XL for literally 2 days and I already miss having a headphone jack. So, I'm swapping for somebody's note 8. I am concerned because the Pixel absolutely flies.

Could you imagine if the Pixel 2 XL had a 3.5mm jack and MicroSD support? It old have been the perfect Android.

Don't know why Google continue with their obsession of wanting to be Apple.

I use my note 8 heavily as I am a gamers and always play large games like hoc an vainglory and my phone never slow down or lag, note 8 is a true monster.

I've had mine 4 months. It is also completely LOADED down. I play a lot of large games. I have a 128gb SD card, & of course the 64gb Note 8. I currently have around 10gb free. Some would think with that kind of weight on the N8 one experience Lag, Freezing, Delays, etc etc but have I? Not one time. This is the Most Amazing Note, & phone I've ever owned. I upgraded from the Note 4 which I LOVED. It was hard for me to give it up. I had 4 brand new battery's I could swap in/out so I never had to charge it. I would go from 0% battery to 100% in 2 minutes. I had 3 external charges so I always had a fully charged battery. I actually declined the $100 trade in for my Note 4 & kept it. I still play some games on it, that I would of lost progress on had I given it up. I ran Nova & Next Launchers on my Note 4. On my Note 8 Im currently running the Touch Wiz Stock Launcher & I haven't even downloaded any others. They really hit a H/R with with Touch Wiz. The ability to customize EVERY piece of TW really led me to keeping it. There is a TON of themes I really like. I don't think I will make the jump the Note 9 when it releases as long as this Note 8 is still going as great as it is right now. I'm thinking the Note 10 might be something really special, & I might jump to it when that day comes. I'll never jump the S series. My only complaint about the Note 8 is when text messaging, bc of the capacitive back button, I'm not able to go BACK without reaching to the Top Left corner with my thumb & that's nearly impossible, bc the N8 is so wide & tall. Don't get me wrong I love the size, it's just a problem I have that I wish they had a solution for now.

I've had mine since September 5th and it runs like a champ. My Note 5 slowed down after a few months, this phone has not.

Great phone runs very smooth and fast as OOTB, I'm coming from the Note 7 debacle so have had it approx 6 months. Bixby, however....but that's for another thread.

My Note 8 lag since day one. Not very happy with the performance. Is a phone I got with post paid plan in Movistar, Costa Rica. I guess is something with the Exynos versions of Notes because the Note 2, 3, and 5 that I had before lagged very much and here in Costa Rica we can't get the Snapdragon versions as much people do in the US. The Mate 9 I had before perform better but overall the Note 8 is a solid phone for me. I just got use to the lag and freezes.

Owner since 2 weeks after launch. Well used and well loved. No lag here. LOL, even with 4 GB of cached data... I always forget to clear cache on a regular basis and my phone is still a "BEAST"
