Android Central Question

I recently had a system update on my Galaxy Note 8, and now only people in my contacts go to my voicemail app inbox where you can see a list of who has called, the date, the time, etc. For unknown numbers, i get a little voicemail symbol at the top of my phone and have to dial 1 and enter my passcode to listen to their message. This is very inconvenient since this is a business phone and i need to get this corrected to prevent missing calls from valued customers.

I'm not synced to the cloud, if that's what you mean. If this was my personal phone i wouldn't mind as much. Being that it is a business phone i don't want to take any unnecessary chances. I really appreciate all of your help. You have been great. I apologize if you feel i've wasted your time. But i think the best option for me at this point is just to take it into our Sprint store and see if they can resolve these two issues for me. Thanks again. I'll let you know what they determine as the fix.

Good luck!

One last thing -- do you have any kind of call filter app or service, either through Sprint or a 3rd party? If so, I wonder if that might be causing issues.

No , I dont feel you wasted my time , that's what I enjoy is to help others . I be happy if I could get it working for you. But I understand it's a business phone , and definitely take it to sprint and please let me know the outcome...hope to see you around the forums.

Actually, I do have one more thing to suggest -- if this means that your 1000 contacts are only saved to your local Phone account, and if you really don't want to sync them with a cloud contact storage (like Google Contacts), then make sure you backup your contacts on a regular basis. You never know when something bad might happen to your phone, and if that's the only place where all of those contacts are stored, you may be up the creek.
