Note 8 / Pixel 2 XL

Have any of you owned both phones? I have a note 8 now but Target is running the $300 off from Verizon and throwing in a $250 gift card. Do you guys think it's worth the jump?

Generally yes, however I don't consider it to be a huge "upgrade" over the Note 8. They're very much peers, different things they're strong at.

Yeah the software updates and the dislike of the curved screen are the main things for me making me reconsider. Is the screen comparable to the note? I know a big fuss has been made over it.

I have a Pixel 2 XL but I owned a Note 8 for a month. The Note was too big and the lack of timely software updates turned me away from it.

I have a Note 8 and a Pixel 2 XL out for delivery. With the recent discount google is offering on the Pixel and ~$400 trade in for my OG Pixel XL the 2XL is hard for me to resist. While a great device, the size of the Note 8 has become more and more annoying to me as well as the occasional stutter and I wasn't completely impressed with the camera. I also have an iPhone X and while I prefer Android to iOS I much prefer to use the iPhone X to the Note 8. Gonna roll with the Pixel 2 XL as daily driver and use my iPhone X as a change of pace when I get bored.

I have both and have used both extensively. I prefer the xl. I'm a simple guy. The note is just too much. Both are great, both are fairly equal... Peers as 1 guy wrote...I decided on the xl full-time

I have both. Prefer the Pixel due to better battery life, immediate os updates, access to os betas and smoother UI. Note8 UI gets janky after a while and requires a reboot to get back to normal. I do like the Note8 for media consumption though.
