How do these cameras compare to say a Gopro hero 4? I'm thinking about getting the camera. I do a lot of recording my drumming at gigs and thought this may be cool to have if the audio was good on it.

If you don't care about getting 360 shots, i suggest you get the Gopro.

Is the charger wireless? If I go this route my phone would have a case on it and the last thing I want to do is keep removing the case to charge the phone.

Most cases allow for wireless charging to go through. Even tough cases as Otterbox, though I don't use one, I've read they don't have problems with wireless charging.

That gear fit pro sounds interesting. I use the gear fit 2 and it's nice. Fits my needs very well. The pro can only be better. Would be nice if that was a "gift"!
