Note 8 screen sometimes will not time out

Found a small issue,the screen time out sometimes will not time out it's set on 15 sec.and 98 percent of the time it will time out normally, but sometimes i notice the screen just stays on.i don't know if this is normal on the note 8?
I've reset it and still the screen won't turn off sometimes.cleared system cashe and uninstalled apps etc etc .yes I've turned off the smart stay makes no diff.i can't find out what causes this.i only notice this a couple time a day but it's still a bit annoying .but just need assurance that it's normal behaviour of the note 8.

I have an S8 Plus that does this on occasion. I have found some apps will prevent it if they're running in the background. Once I close the apps it is all good. I know you have the Note 8 but thought I'd let you know it's the OS and apps not your phone.Thanks!
