Note 8 vs S9+ cameras

It's ridiculous how prices of smartphones continue to rise every year. But, pc components, with the exception of some fluctuations in market demand, continue to be the same, year after year for similarly specced components.
Is it the manufacturing process due to the screens?
Or, is it just manufacturers like Samsung and Apple just taking advantage of everyone? When I hear reports that mention "record profits", I'm tending to lean towards the latter.
Apple and Samsung are businesses. They will charge what people will pay. If people stop buying, they will make changes. "Record profits" shows a successful business model. No one has to buy an iPhone or a Galaxy, but millions are. My handset is my number one tool for my work. I admit I am willing to pay a premium for what works best for me. All my record keeping, logs, access to project records held on our office systems, all forms of comunication, spreadsheets, Onenote, Onedrive, schedules, on and on and on - I run my projects from this thing. It's actually amazing what these hand held devices can do. I am more impressed by my handset than I am with my desktop PC.

Desktop and labtops will be obsolete in a few years since samsaug got that dex technology really that's all you need

True but it's not as functional as dex
It was just as functional. It did the same exact thing. The problem was that Microsoft phones went extinct.

If you had a Continuum capable phone, it would even work with BT keyboards and mice and miracast compatible wireless display adapters.

I agree... i think that the note 8 was the most under rated phone by Youtubers who fell in love with the pixel xl... ugh.

They feel in love because of the battery. Nearly everyone said the same thing, Love the note 8, but it won't last me the whole day but the pixel will.

I honestly dont believe it's the phone. I believe oreo is garbage plain and simple. Never had a focus issue recording 4k video on nougat. Google is the problem here. They know there is an issue and won't own up to it. There are 3 N8'S in my household and all 3 exhibit the same issues since oreo. 2 are unlocked and 1 Verizon. Samsung is going to lose customers if they can't fix stupid issues like this. Give me a way to change the bootloader back and revert to 7.1.1

Are other manufacturers having issues with Oreo and their cameras? Pixel 2 owners reporting same issue? If so then I would say maybe issue Google needs to look into. But if not then it's more of a a Samsung issue.

Android is Google and they'll release updates when they find bugs in their OS, but it's Samsung's job to make it work with the components they spec out with every model... Their choice of screens, chips (Exynos or SD), SSD or not, cameras, etc., and their software too (Samsung Experience/Touchwiz). And if Google releases a new OS then it's up to Samsung to make sure it's working with their phones.

With your issue, if there is a bug with Oreo and the camera, Samsung spec'd out the camera and released Oreo for the Note so Samsung needs to figure it our and release an update to the camera app to fix it.

There's the one question that has to be asked. Did google release a bugged out oreo that only affects non google devices? But eh got me and the wife an iphone x just to fix the issues we have that we need to work for our jobs. No biggie there. Figured we are already buried into both ecosystems anyway. Maybe the next patch will fix it right

honestly if you compare Note8 to S9P.the difference is small.but if your from older Note series than the difference is huge.S9P has better low light and a bit faster speed.but doesnt really go "so much better" than Note8.

I just switch from the note 8 to s9+ and it makes alot of difference the S9+ is better optimized battery life last alot longer than the note 8 also the camera is a little sharper with more features

erm,in my case my S9P had terrible battery life.like really really terrible.3 hours SOT.as for camera i can live with Note 8's camera.

but the main reason i sold my S9P was that it HAD DUST under the screen.contacted Samsung Indonesia and they offered to REPAIR the screen and i wouldn't want my not even 1 month old phone to be dissasembled so i sold it for a Note8.
