Not sure if this is the best place for the thread, but it's more to do with Verizon policy than the N9 itself.

So right now we have 3 lines, mine, my wife, and kids/emergency. We are looking at getting my wife the N9 and I saw the BOGO offer. If I'm reading it right, the free phone must be on a new line, which we have no need for. So does that mean we're SOL to take advantage of that offer? If it makes a difference, all three lines are currently under DPP's, but can pay them all off with relative ease. I was kind of wondering if I could pay off the spare line, cancel service on it, then start a new line of service with the BOGO offer to keep it at 3 lines. Because it's a cheap phone on there already (because, you know, kids), I'd then put that one on the new line and do...something... With the BOGO Note. Not sure what yet.

Need a new line.
I get that, but maybe I wasn't clear enough on my original post. Because any new line I activate would be only used as a spare line and for my kids (I.e. If they have a sleepover or something and need to get in touch with us), I didn't want the new phone on it.

I did get a hold of a Verizon rep on Facebook. She confirmed that I would have the option of moving phones around as long as that new line and payment agreement are in effect. So I think that's my current plan. Activate the line with the free note. Once that's set and done, nomove the existing spare phone to the new line and cancel its old one. I'm still not sure what to do with the free phone, though. I may put it on my line to play around with it, but I have had zero interest in Samsung phones in the past.

It's pretty simple.

Start new line 4.

End spare line 3 (pay off whatever DPP is on there).

After activating line 4, swap SIM from BOGO Note 9 to phone that used to be on spare line 3 (or any other phone).

This is a bill credit BOGO, right? Line 4 is effectively locked up for 2 years. You know this already - there's no paying off this line early unless you want to lose the bill credits so you won't be able to use this new line 4 for the same process until the two years are up.

You would lose out on that number for line 3 unless you ported it out then back in later.

This works well I think with an iPad as the extra line if it's paid off. That's the line you can cancel.
