How long do you guys plan on keeping your Note 9? And how long have you had it? I originally bought the Note 9 in December 2019. Does the build seem outdated to you at all? Would it bother you even if it was?

I know there are lots of hardcore people out there who still have it! I am currently using the Note 10 plus... But in all honestly, I had considered going back to the Note 9 for the price of it and the fact that is basically a phone with no compromises.

I don't consider myself hardcore, but I bought our 2 Note 9s on launch day back in August of 2018. Wife's is the 128 and I've had to add a 256G mem card to it (she takes a lot of pics). Mine is the 512G and I'm not close to filling it up. Don't even think I'm at 50% capacity yet (134.7G out of 512G). We both still have our original batteries.

These phones still do everything we need. As long as we don't break them, I'll keep using mine. When the batteries can no longer hold a decent charge, I'll consider replacing the battery. Because I'm so satisfied with this phone, I don't even look at new offerings. Very happy with this purchase.

Do you have screen burn at all? I'm not a storage crazy person and use expandable for pictures, so even with 128 GB, it is more than enough for me as I don't really download that many apps. I use a 256 GB sd card so no problems there.

I find that even though the camera has limited options compared to today's standards, it still takes beautiful pictures and videos IMO. Honestly, for me, it has the best camera I have ever used on a phone. Everything always comes out so colorful and vibrant. I love taking pictures of my son outside. I did wish it had wide angle camera though.

It's honestly not that big of a deal to me that the device won't receive anymore major software updates. Updates are overrated if you ask me. They can sometimes cause too many problems and bugs. One UI 2.5 is pretty decent. If we could get One UI 3.0 and still keep Android 10, that would be fine if you ask me. But obviously that won't happen.

The only things that this device can't do that other newer devices can that I wish it had are the ability to use Samsung's 25 watt super fast charging and wide angle camera. That's it. It would be nice if they had a 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage version though.

It seems as if by YOUR postings, you have and have had recently owned, sold, been using quite a few new phones. That's well and good. Frankly, I'm still using the Note 9 with a new battery, things are fine, and am looking at what to transition to regarding next phone. The removal of the 3.5mm Jack to me is a big deal. Also losing the SD card is an issue. The Note 9 of course has both. As I have posted, the Note 9 is a great phone, does everything I ask of it, crisp display, phenomenal reception, very fast, paid off a long time ago, what's there not to like? At this moment in time, nothing. Still receiving security updates. If someone absolutely needs the 3.5mm Jack, I say, use the Note 9. However, if they have newer phones, definitely use them... IF THEY HAVE THEM OR NEED TO BUY A NEW PHONE.

I have been back and forth a lot recently honestly between the Note 9 and N10+. I have been told by several different people to stick with the N10+ for various reasons. Though I mostly agree with that, I feel there are drawbacks to this choice compared to the Note 9. Mostly the price and battery life.

No screen burn at all. But then again, maybe I'm not considered a heavy user. Probably explains why I'm still on the original battery

Back when I first got the Note 9, it wasn't uncommon to see 5-6 hours of SOT for me. That's pretty good IMO.

Planning on keeping it for at least another year. It does everything I need it to do and it's been paid off for a while now.

Just received the latest security update from Verizon yesterday. Loaded with no issues. Good to see them continuing to arrive.

Am I crazy if I have both the Note 10 Plus AND Note 9? Lol

And also, how many years worth of security updates does the Note 9 have left?

Sammy or Verizon said... one year after last Android Update. Maybe two years... was intimated. So Note 9 folks we're good to at least the end of this year... maybe longer.

I just pick up a factory unlocked N9 2 days ago and I love it. Whats weird is it seems to run better than some of my newer phones released in 2020!
