Makes no odds whether centred or not. It doesn't affect the shot in any way.

First World problemsYou may not notice it or care (I don't), but there are people who care about symmetry. No, it does not affect function, but yes, it is off-centre and that will bother some people, especially OCD folk. This is actually a thing now for the new iPhones because they're no longer symmetrical. Still awesome phones, but some people are now bothered by that.
Now you'll see it but that's NOT centered hehe.
Anyway, it IS because of IOS, because of design (people would complain if the overall hole wasn't in the center), because of manufacturing differences albeit that isn't as noticeable. It's a little bit of everything, even how the light hits it because of the recessed lens VS where the glass and plastic layer is sandwiched in.

Nothing to do with being easily satisfied. In fact I'm quite fussy about some things.I'm sure your friends love you as you're so easily satisfied with life![]()

But my partner is a cinematographer. Checked these lenses and found them adequate. Especially as this is actually a smartphone not a camera!
Camera yes! Agreed. Phone? NoYup in fact I love the photos that the note 9 produces, just fussy about certain stuff (OCD). Ain't nothing wrong with that.
If your partner's camera had an off centred lens regardless of reason I'm sure he/she wouldn't be 100% satisfied as well![]()
Camera yes! Agreed. Phone? No
Well I'd rather my camera have an off centred lens than my phone which I use daily. So for me it's a yes to the phone and no to the camera!
Is this why my photos suck.
Nope, that's just due to me...
