Note 9 to Note 20 Upgrade?

My wife and I pre-ordered Note 20 Ultra's, but I'm suffering from cold feet a little. I love my Note 9, it's been a solid phone for me and battery life is still very good. Paid cash up front for it, so it's not owed me anything for a long time. But Verizon has some smoking deals. I'm getting $500 off of each phone by trading in some old phones (S7E, Pixel 2 XL). The $1000, in our case, is spread over 24 months as a bill credit, but we are not changing carriers anyway, so not a big deal. Also Samsung is giving $150 gift cards once you get the phone and download their shopping app. So it adds up to half off. Pretty sure those old phones will never be worth $500 again on a trade in deal like this, so I feel it's the time to jump. But it's sure not because of any shortcomings of the Note 9. Still a great phone.

Note 9 has better screen ratio and higher ppi than any Samsung flagship since.

Just pulled the trigger on a Note 20 Ultra 512gb. Too good a deal to pass up on the Samsung.com pre-order as i got $550 trade in for my Note9 512gb and my device payment dropped $20/month, plus got $200 in Samsung credit to get stuff for it.

Looking forward to a better camera with a real zoom, bigger battery, bigger screen, in screen fingerprint sensor and more.

This will be my 4th Note.

I am happy with my Note 9. I see no reason to sell, trade or "upgrade" my phone.

I traded my Note 9 for A Note 20 at Samsung and got $550 trade in. I paid $470 for A Note 20 and the new Bud Lives for $470 including tax. I went to Costco and saw the new Note 20 and I actually liked the back. I'll be using a car so who cares if it is plastic.

I can understand why.

Somebody at Samsung needs to eat this phone.
And they need to go.

I already preordered the Note 20 Ultra. AT&Ts preorder offer was just too good to pass up.

I will miss the iris scanner, led notification, and rear fps but I need a phone with all day battery life. The camera is a plus too

Thats great

Couldn't care less that the Note 20 has a plastic back, it's actually a good thing other than the perceived notion glass is more premium because some YouTube reviewers said it was. Glass is cheap to make, slippery to hold, and very fragile, doesn't scream premium to me. Not to mention with a glass phone a case is a must or the phones near impossible to hold onto completely negating that "premium" look and feel.

I won't be replacing my Note 8 or 9 with the Note 20 any time soon because COVID-19 screwed me financially and I can't justify unnecessary purchases, especially those as expensive as the Note 20.

Honestly I also don't know which Note 20 I'd get. I want the Ultra because it's the best spec wise and I want the camera on it. However I'm tempted to save money, ditch the glass back, and get a flat screen!

Samsung made decisions hard this year.

That's funny, I went to "My AT&T" then to my phone, which of course was way past "Ready for Upgrade" and neither Note 20 was even shown as an upgrade choice. I said "Alrighty then!" I went straight to Samsung and got it from them, on AT&T! Still got my $550 tradein, my $150 Credit (which I used for Galaxy Buds Live)! Whatever...

I went through the store and got it that way. I had to pay off my phone, but it let me do that while I paid the taxes.

I'm going to call AT&T this week and confirm that I got the deal.

A thousand quid for a plastic phone?
No Samsung. Just no!
Samsung announced both the Note 20, and its big brother, Note 20 Ultra today.
While the Ultra looks likely to once again end the year at the top, or at least fairly close to the top of the flagship food chain, (thus justifying at least some of that hefty price tag attached), the same cannot be said of the somewhat confusing Note 20. It falls short in my humble opinion, ending up as more footnote than Note...
My big gripe is, how do you justify a thousand dollars for a plastic phone in 2020. Struck me how much of a good deal the Note 9 was, or is in comparison. Especially when speaking in terms of premium finish and storage options, (storage on the Note 20 is non-expandable).
This is the generation of Note I'll be looking to upgrade to. To be able to afford the Note 20 Ultra, I might well have to resort to selling a kidney or two. Hey, you make peace with your inner consumerism coupled as it is with a love for smartphones, and learn to get on with it. However the Note 20? Meh!
Basically wondering if anyone else rocking the Note 9 will be making the jump over the next year or so, and which of the latest additions to the Note family will you be looking to embrace?

I see nothing exciting and plan on keeping the note 9 for now.
