Note 9 users what is your next phone upgrade plan

Samsung is getting way to expensive now. I was able to pick up my Note 9 for only $500 which is why I have it.

There are way too many great options out there now to justify spending $1000-1400 on a phone.

Just received Android 10 and a new factory Samsung battery under warranty... I'm good till Note 20 and beyond. Really enjoy this Note 9.

Have loved owning the Note 9. Understated. Especially now, in the face of far more modern competition.
Perhaps some of its appeal is with its retro goodness: Hello audio jack, Hi Led lights, that sort of thing...
Happily skipped the admittedly excellent Note 10 (mine would have been the Plus variant, had I jumped on that itineration train), but holding on to the 9 for another year and a bit.
The idea is to get the Note 20 Ultra (should that turn out to be the name), but wait till prices drop just before the Summer of 2021. Something tells me affording it will involve selling a couple kidneys otherwise.
Anyway, not a lot of phones you can comfortably make those sort of plans with, and not think you're somehow opting to slide into the dark ages in the meantime, but the Note 9 is frankly that good.

I have to keep mine until it dies. Hopefully it will last a few more years. Then I'd like to get another phone in the note line.

I will check out Note 11. By then maybe 5g will be more prevalent in VZW

My next phone upgrade will not be a Samsung product. Not because I dont like Samsung but because there are too many really good options for phones with amazing specs and half the price.
No more spending 800+ on phones for me.

I always suggest go with what works for you.

I'm the same. I had a Galaxy S5 for 4 years before I got the Note 9 but I won't be waiting 4 years again to upgrade. I came close to pre ordering the S20 Ultra. However after reading and watching many reviews, I'll start at least considering the Note 20 at which my contract ends.

But more likely I'll wait for the S21. The Note 20 will have a few improvements over the S20 but the S21 will be an all new series. I really like the S20 Ultra but want to see a few more improvements. I'm excited to see what further innovations Samsung does with the new camera system and it would be great if they match Huawei with 10x optical zoom as just announced on the P40 Pro. That in turn would make all other zoom levels that much better.

I'm hoping Samsung introduces the 2nd generation Qualcomm fingerprint scanner. And I'm reading rumours of a newly developed lower power and less blue light emitting display plus a newly developed 60W gallium nitride fast charger.
