Note 9 wouldn't unlock

My wifes note 9 was at 92%.
She left it on by her bedside table.
When she got up this morning, her finger print sensor would not unlock the phone.
Pressed the power button.
Nothing.
It was like it had no power.
I held the power button and down volume key down several times and it gave me the option to go in the safe mode
I went threw the phone looking for the problem.
Nothing.
Rebooted it.
Wife has been using it all day.

Anybody ran into this problem.
It's a unlocked note 9 from Best Buy on Verizon.

You couldn't get in with passcode?

Screen stayed dark like it wasn't even on.
So how are you gonna put in a passcode.

Ok gotcha, keep a eye on it that's strange

Something similar happened to me with my Note 4 some years ago, it turned out that I had accidentally turned brightness down to zero
