I've recently replaced the batery in my Note for another samsung original.
Sometimes overnight it just dies and switches itself of.
When I put it back on the charger it suddenly jumps up to a high percentage, indicating that it wasn't really discharged at all. .... or are the battery readings just wrong? It's really become useless when out and about as it can last for many hours then suddenly drain very fast.
I installed carat to search for battery hogs but there's nothing consistently draining it.. it does sometimes say Cloudagent 1.0 is using a lot.
Please help as it's driving me crazy !! :(

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you get the battery? It's always possible that the battery either isn't genuine or is faulty. It may be worth trying another battery--if the same behavior occurs, then you can focus on the phone.

There is quite a lot of awake time, despite the screen not being on that much. There could be some app that is sucking battery by constantly waking the phone. It would help to see more stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

I switched my phone off briefly this morning at 45% battery and when I turned it back on the battery had gone straight down to 18% LOL. After half an hour or so it's climbed back up a few percent without any charge so seems like the calibration is not quite working correctly
