Note4 Simultaneous Voice & Data?

My Thunderbolt and now my Note2 does simultaneous voice and data.
Is the Note4 able to do simultaneous voice and data?

From another thread :

Verizon phones (the new ones) need VoLTE to do Voice and data. The old phones (like your thunderbolt and Note 2) had two radios to do it... So VoLTE wasn't needed. All newer phones have one radio so they need VoLTE otherwise no data and voice.

Well I can tell you my note 4 on sprints network you cant. I would have never got the phone if i knew that before hand

Perfect! I love that about my Note2.
I can't think of anything else that wouldn't make the Note4 my next phone.

The Note 4 allows voice and data. It is the last phone for Verizon that I know of that can do voice and data without VoLTE.

Voice uses the old CDMA 1x network and data uses LTE...

So, do you think Verizon may phase out the old CDMA 1x network?

Thanks for the article.
One of my concerns was answered.
I was worried that voice over LTE would use data on my limited data plan.
It's good they will count it toward voice minutes because I have unlimited voice.
.
Another thing that caught my attention was they were going to charge the video calls also against voice minutes and not data.
That's actually pretty cool.

Does the Note4 take the same size sim as the Note2 ?

Yes, but not until about 2021 according to this: Verizon will sunset 2G and 3G CDMA networks by 2021 | Android Central



Yes, they both use a micro SIM. I still have my Note 2 as a backup and just transfer the card between phones for service as needed.

Now I'm even more sold.
I can use my Note2 for run around, and keep the Note4 pristine.
