Note7 shuts off

So I've now experienced my first problem with the note7. I was watching youtube and my phone randomly shuts off. I tried to turn it back on and realized my battery is all of a sudden dead. It was at 36% when it shut off. This has happened before on YouTube but it was just a restart. I was downloading a ton of YouTube music while running two apps in double window so I chalked that up to my phone overheating. My phones battery never drained though. Does anyone think it's the YouTube app? Has this happened to anyone else on youtube? Any suggestions on what I could do?

You aren't the only one... There have been a few reports of the phone shutting off at 40%.

You can try to backup any important data and do a factory data reset. If the problem persists then I would contact Samsung for a replacement

I've read elsewhere that a few people have had to send back their note for a warranty battery replacement due to a faulty battery. In the grand scheme of things, just be glad it didn't blow up 😅.

I was reading reviews on the play store for the youtube app and there's someone else that mentions that their phone constantly reboots when downloading videos for offline for youtube Red. I'm semi relieved. I know about those phones that go into a bootloop and everything but thats more international like Asia.

While watching a video, it shut off at 36% battery. The only way I could turn the phone on was if I plugged in the charger.

Did you do a screenshot of your battery page after that by chance?

If you couldn't turn on your phone it sounds like your battery drained.

I would exchange the phone.

Yea thats a good idea. My battery has been flawless before that but since theres a recall, I'm going to wait until Verizon has some fixed units and exchange it. Hopefully they will have blue coral.

I wonder if they'll let us change colors. I chose "basic black" because after going to 2 other stores, all 60+ miles away from my small home town, I just wanted to come home with one. Mine has had no issues, but after the explosion reports, I will not charge it overnight as I do with my Note 5.

I'm just hoping I can exchange it in store with MY original blue coral color. I won't take anything else and I only have until September 30th. Stressful to say the least.

Well, I wonder what would happen after 9/30 honestly. They have to honor the recall I would think, they may just charge you a "restocking fee" perhaps. I guess we may know more in the upcoming days/weeks.
