nothing happens when i plug into laptop

it wont charge and nothing pops up...is there something I need to do???????? thanks

1st, reboot phone. In my case that usually allowed the phone to communicate with the computer. If that does not work restart your computer then try connecting again. When you get the USB symbol in your notification tray you can drag it down to choose the option you want to use. I just went through this yesterday. Select USB mass storage.

Actually, likely nothing will happen when you plug in your DX, but it should have the charging lightning across the battery icon at the top of the home page.

To access the DX's SD card, you need to open your computer's own folder and click on the drive letter assigned to your DX. Then you have access to your SD card and can drag/drop back and forth between your computer and DX for such as photos, music files, ring tones, wallpapers, etc. Just make sure they are put into the right folders on the SD card.

You can also edit folders on the SD card, such as sorting/deleting photos, moving those you want to save into your computer's files (to clear out the DX folder), etc. The SD card functions like a flash drive.

If its not charging in the very least then you're having the same problem my gf and I had awhile ago. It happened randomly where if you plugged in the phone, it wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in. Often the only fix was to reboot the phone.

Make sure its unplugged from the cable before you power it off and back on though just to make sure.
