Noticeable lag in the phone when using google maps

Hello guys

I have been using the phone for several weeks and it is very fast and smooth. Last few days I have been seeing some lag in it especially when using google chrome but nothing that pissed me off. However, the phone lags and stops responding for few seconds whenever I open google maps and start navigating. It takes a significant time just to close the app or reopen it or do anything when Maps is working.

Did anyone of you notice that, and if so do you know a solution for it?

"Now I am Looking for the new Maps app, and I truly hope it will be optimized for the S4".

The phone lags when using Google chrome not because of the phone but chrome is a quite laggy and stutter browser. As for Google maps and navigation I don't know what's up with that.
