notifactions edge not working

The screen on my S8 doesnt wake up when I receive a message. Edge lightning doesn't work. All settings are correct (edge always on, screen flash on) but also notifactions from Google Fit or playstore don't show up in the notification bar. The first couple of days after the Pie update they did but suddenly not anymore.

Are your messaging notifications set to pop up AND to wake up the screen? Edge lighting only works with pop up notifications and will only work if the screen is on (on AOD or with the screen off, if the notification is not set to wake the screen, it will not show).

yes popup is on.

And do they not work also when the screen is on? Have you checked that they are enabled in the Edge notification settings?

Glad you got it sorted. If you want that to work with the screen off, you need to set the app notification to wake the screen (Edge will intercept that and change it to the edge glow/pop up). If the app you want doesn't support that (like I said before, most don't) you'll need a 3rd party notification app that can customize notifications to do that.
