Notifcation Ringtone

Is there a way to set a custom notification ringtone? I did it for the alarm clock. All I did was add a mp3 file as ringtone and it appeared in the alarm clock tones as well. This didn't work for notifications.

You can use apps like ring droid or astro manager to set your ring tone or add the audio file under sd card/ media/ sound/ ringtones.

Easy way to do this first you have to make sure your SD card has the right directories..

Mount your phone in USb mode
look for a "media" folder

within that folder add an audio folder with the following sub folders

notifications
alarms
ringtones

sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
sdcard/media/audio/alarms
sdcard/media/audio/notifications

Now all you need do is drop your mp3 files into the correct directory and they will populate the correct system files

i have the correct files, i also purchased ringo pro. my alarm sounds, notifications and individual text tones all work. however, i can't get ringtones to work. any suggestions? the programmer for ringo pro still hasn't given me an answer.

I have Ringo Lite installed. I figured out how to set the tones for individual users, but despite the fact that the notification is set to silent in the default messaging application, I'm still getting the default notification and then the notification I set through Ringo. What am I missing?
